Should I Learn Calculus Online?
Q: I'm currently in High School, and I've taken some basic Algebra,
Geometry, and Statistics. I will graduate before I'm able to take the Precalc class, and I'm very intrested in mathematics, and I'm looking for some advice. I want to learn Calculus, so, where either online or by book should I learn it? Of course, it wouldnt be advanced calc, just some basic stuff.
A:Calculus is big business, sadly, but the good news is that there are a vast
number of used calculus texts about. Try any used bookstore.
Or, online at www.planetmath.org , click on "Books"; there is a decent
introductory text called the Calculus Bible in pdf format.
And of course there is Google; a number of profs have posted more or less
thorough lecture notes on all sorts of things, including calculus
