Q: Auto Accident Injury - Advice Needed On January 28, 1998 I was driving home from work, and at the end of the exit (off the freeway) was rear-ended while waiting for a green light. When that happened, I was at a stop position. The other party’s vehicle must have been at a speed of at least 30 mph, because I was forced into the traffic lane. Luckily, another collision didn’t follow. I was taken to the emergency room by a friend on the same night and was diagnosed with a whiplash and concussion. I began sessions with a physical therapist three days per week, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., which didn’t seem to help, therefore two months later went to a chiropractor, who put me on a visit schedule every day for one week, then three times per week - 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., which did not allow me to have a full time job. I have only been working a half day ever since the accident in order to take care of the injuries. In June the half day job grew into a full time job, but I couldn’t keep the full time schedule due to my treatments. I tried another job, which didn’t work out for the same reason, and had to leave it three days later. I’m hoping to get some legal advice about my situation and about my rights.

A: Last week I took a temporary job from 6:45 a.m. to 5 p.m., but did not go to the chiropractor because of the work hours. After the job ended, I went to the chiropractor, who was very unhappy with my absence and told me that if

I don’t go regularly, the insurance will not pay my medical bills. I explained to him my situation, but he still insisted that I go regularly for a treatment. The treatments are scheduled to continue until February - March of 1999. Since February 1998, I have been living on a very limited income, and could hardly pay my rent and expenses due to this accident. Now that I don’t have any job and can’t have a full time job, I simply don’t know how I can afford to have a place to live under these circumstances. My automobile insurance is paying my medical bills but they don’t care about anything else. Your best bet is to speak with a local Seattle personal injury attorney.
