Scanned Business Card Organizer
Q: Scanned Business card organizer I know there are utils out there that manage scanned images of business cards. Sort of like a software Rolodex file. Anyone know of a good one?
A: The Paperport VX scanner I installed for a manager at my business came with software called "CardScan" from Corex Technologies. It does the job. Seems to do a decent job of OCR with it all. I think it's about 75% accurate on the OCR. Makes some assumptions about what information is what. Like the first line in the upper right is the name, etc. But it gives you the ability to edit the information AS WELL as providing the scanned image itself. I think it's capable of dialing out as well. Worth a look? Maybe. They stopped scanning in cards when things got hectic around here, so I don't have a long-term evaluation for you.
