Safety Glasses

Safety glasses are an important, and often essential means of protecting one of the most delicate and fragile organs in the human body: the eyes. As industry becomes more and more competitive and the need for faster, more efficient work processes have to occur, safety glasses are becoming a mandatory tool. In years past, workers in many fields went performed relatively hazardous tasks without eye protection, often resulting in unnecessary injuries to the eyes. A simple, inexpensive pair of safety glasses would have prevented a large number of those injuries. In some cases, the level of damage was severe enough to make the loss of vision permanent. This makes the tragedy all the more poignant, knowing that the injury could have been prevented entirely by donning a pair of safety glasses. As insurance costs soar to never before seen levels, industry management is making the use of safety glasses in the

potentially hazardous workplace mandatory. Lost work time and medical claims have grown to enormous levels, and preventable injuries are part of the reason. Safety glasses are typically made available to both the worker as well as managers and visitors to industrial institutions to insure the safety of anyone within the facility. Ongoing safety awareness training, including the perceived threats countered by using safety glasses, is an integral part of the modern working environment. Vision is a precious gift and is extremely difficult to repair when damaged. Permanent loss of vision is a tragedy that should be prevented with the use of something as simple as a pair of safety glasses.
