Queensland Property Market
Q: Can anyone help me? I'm thinking of buying an investment property (2 bedroom unit) in Queensland. I looked at a unit in Carrara, on the Gold Coast, which I'm interested in, but am not sure about the area or the rental prospects. Otherwise, I saw a few units in Brisbane north, near Zillmere.
A: Now is absolutely the time to buy property. But for the price range you are looking at, I'm sure you could get 3/4 bedroom houses a little further out (at say Forest Lake) for around $95000. These houses are only up to 5 years old and all brick and tile. Forest Lake is the fastest growing suburb in Brisbane with schools, shops and a full shopping centre to open next year. For rental purposes, it would be ideal. Come over and have a look around, there are a lot of places on the books with estate agents in the area (I only know this because I know agents selling in this area - and they aren't me!!).
