Power Of Attorney ,example In Michigan???

Q: I've executed a general power of attorney and an advance health care directive in my home state of California but am going to be having surgery in Arizona next week. Is my California health care directive valid in Arizona or do I need to execute an Arizona specific document in order to grant my designee power to act with regard to my health care needs during or after my surgery? I already have the statutory form for Arizona but, unless I actually need it, am not going to execute it. Instead I would prefer to rely on my California documents.

A: My husband and I had ours done when we lived in Michigan and when we relocated to PA both were still valid. Our attorney had a clause in ours that stated they were to be honored in any state in the United States and were governed by the laws of Michigan. Had to use both in PA before my husband's death and never had a problem. Just make sure they are both notorized.
