Online Degree Program
Q: I Would like some recommendations for good online degree program for Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or any computer related degree program.
A: If you decide that the BS in CIS will meet your needs I would encourage you to look at a program which has received little attention in this NG. After starting on the BSCIS program at UMUC, which I found to be poorly organized, I transferred to the University of Massachussets at Lowell BS in IS program. I have found the UML program to be well organized, the instructors are knowledgeable and very approachable. I have yet to find an instructor who responded to posts in more than, say, 12-18 hours. On one occasion at UMUC I waited two weeks for a reply. Most UML instuctors offer a weekly chat which offers the opportunity for frequent, real-time interaction which I find to be very important in complex, detail-oriented courses like advanced C++. The tuition is also relatively inexpensive, $200.00 (US) per semester credit.
