Online Course Recommendations ?
Q: Can anyone recommend a good online screenwriting course? I'm in New Zealand.
The UCLA one is quite pricey, I am also keen for a course with an
experienced tutor, i.e. with screen credits.
A:I guess if "online" is the only way to go, then go ahead, but I took an
online screenwriting class from NYU and maybe it was the teacher, or maybe
it was just the fact that it was online, but I didn't get much out of it
other than confidence. The teacher loved my stuff, said I had real talent.
Did she help me in any way? Not really. In all seriousness, I've learned
much more in MWS and by simply reading screenplays than I did in that
course. I think it was the lack of immediate feedback, or possibly the fact
that the teacher just wasn't really tuned in to what the students were
doing. Whatever the reason, I didn't have a great experience. But, hey, I'm
