Nursery Decorating
Nursery decorating is often one of the most fun aspects of having a baby, but it can also be a major hassle as well. There are so many choices when it comes to decorating a baby nursery that it can often be difficult to make any solid decisions. If the soon to be parents do not know the sex of their baby beforehand, there are always questions about colors to use that will be neutral enough for a boy or a girl. Traditionally, the neutral colors were pastel yellows or greens. These days, however, parents are starting to use other colors like reds, purples, and orange. Baby nursery decorations tend to have themes too. The themes are most often reflecting movie characters and books these days rather than the ducks, train, and dolls of the past. It can be very frustrating for many because there is so many themes and popular décor to choose from these days. Popular themes for girls these days are: Dora the Explorer, Barbie (still popular), and Disney princesses. Popular boys themes are: Harry Potter, Shrek, and as always, Hot Wheels, but these types of themes re best left to parents who know what they are having already. Once you choose a theme for decorating your baby’s nursery, you can start getting the furniture for the nursery. I would suggest getting the theme first, because some types of nursery furniture is theme oriented. For example, if you want to use a movie theme like Finding Nemo, you can buy dressers that are designed with the Nemo characters on them and sometimes, the themed furniture is cheaper than a wooden or solid white piece of furniture is. Accessories are probably once of the most interesting parts about nursery decorating because it is easy and entertaining for the parents to co-ordinate their accessories for the theme.
