New Jersey Criminal Lawyer, Pls Help???

Q: There's been a lot of talk about how not to get in trouble on tour. Just remember one fact about Jersey. Driving a motor vehicle in New Jersey is a “privilege” not a “right”. They do not need a search warrant to search a vehicle in Jersey. They do need probable cause though. Which will most likely be, “I smelled marijuana.” I will make no suggestions as to what to say to the cops when they ask to search your car. That is up to you. I am just asking you kind pholks to be careful. Drive the speed limit and use signals. Remember one more thing. In Jersey when in a 65 mph zone fines are doubled. What ever it is you are doing or what ever it is you are carrying, the fines and punishment will be doubled if you are pulled over in a 65 mph zone. Also...remember those school zones. You see signs all over Jersey. Busted carying in a school zone and you are going to jail. I believe it is 100 yards but I am unsure. And if anyone gets busted…I got the name of a great criminal lawyer.

A: -It's 1000 feet. A 100 yard rule would be interesting, then at least one end of the football field, would be safe!! One good cop experience I had in Jersey was when my brother got pulled over for doing 80 in a 50. The cop asked to search the car. Since he needed probable cause (and knowing I had absoultly nothing in the car) I asked him, why he thought we had something to search for. He told me it was the DEAD STICKER on the back of my car!! Anyway I had nothing better to do, so I let him go to town. Of course he found nothing (except for a High Times I forgot I had under the seat!) BUT the GOOD NEWS was that he let us go on the speeding!! CHING (That's got to

be an expensive ticket). Well worth sitting on the side of the road for 20 minutes. So the moral is, if you've done something to get pulled over, and they want to search (and you don't have anything), might as well be civil and let them search, you might get out of a ticket! -Y2Trey wrote: in addition, NJ just passed a law that is effective immediately not wearing a seatbelt is not only grounds to pull you over (this was always the case) but now is probable cause to search the car, this is for both driver and passenger(s) buckle up! this one snuck through with only one small article in my local paper, sneaky pigs! Just another reason why New Jersey sucks.
