Minoxidil OD Symptoms???

Q: How can you tell if you are overdosing on minoxidil? What are the symptoms and side effects? I remember reading a snippet somewhere about getting a puffy face or something. Can it increase heart rate more than just temporarily etc?

A:An obvious sign of minoxidil overdose is hair growth on the tongue, palms of your hand and on the bottom of your feet. I don't know if it was an overdose, but after using Minoxidil for about 4 years, I started getting a burned scalp-looked like a chemical burn with little bumps and was really sore. I have stopped using it and am looking for something different now. Warning signals 1) Increase in heart rate-monitor your heart rate and if it is 20 beats per minute over normal pulse, contact your doctor. 2)Rapid weight gain of more than 5 pounds- weigh yourself daily,if there is any swelling of face, hands, ankles,or stomach area this could be a sign that you are retaining fluids. 3)Increased difficulty in breathing-especially when lying down. This maybe due to increased body fluids. It can also happen when your blood pressure is getting worse. 4) New or worsening pain in chest, arm or shoulder or signs of severe indigestion- these could be signs of serious heart problems. 5)Dizziness,lightheadedness,or fainting- signs of high blood pressure IMO you should not be casually taking drugs like this or others without fully knowing(best you can) of the risks, dont place your

hair above your health. Currently I suspect slight water retention and slight heart rate increase. Ive been using minoxidil for about 5 years now, topically. Switched to Xandrox 12.5% twice daily, about 2 years ago. The retin-a formula at night. Only in the last year or so did I start seeing these symptoms. Im gonna drop the retin-a, which will lower absorption and see how that goes. This was my primary side-effect when I took oral minoxidil. This was such a bad feeling, too. It not only affects your breathing, but your mental health as well - depression, and a big-time sense of doom. The last days I took it were some of the worst days of my life.
