Military Sexual Harassment

Q: I am not a clerk to go hunting material for others that is easy to find and which is cohesive within itself as to the extent and nature of sex abuse in the military. Have you any reports suggesting sexual harassment wasn't endemic? That is the easier route surely?

A: Sexual harassment and sexual abuse happen all the time virtually *everywhere*. It's a terrible thing. Nobody is denying that. And I never said it wasn't a problem in the military. However, you hear about sexually harassment in the military so much because it's a big news story. The military is held to a higher standard by the public, so when we screw up, it sells newspapers. If I put "military sexual harassment" in an internet search engine, yes I get lots of hits pointing out the problems in the military. Does that mean it's endemic? Part of the very culture of the military? If you believe that, use your own standards and put "sex abuse catholic priest" in your favorite search engine. If you think my "military sexual harassment" results mean that the military is full of sex offenders, apparently your "sex abuse catholic priest" indicates that the RC clergy consists mainly of pedophiles.
