Medical Courses In The UK Unis

Q: Can anyone from the UK recommend a good university anywhere in the United Kingdom that offers a medical course? My friend is interested in headed for the UK for that particular course. She's already applied to Glasgow, Nottingham, Liverpool, Newcastle and Sheffield. Any others to be recommended? Also on this note; the UK matriculation course offered in my college is called the CAL, short for the Cambridge 'A' Levels. Can someone tell me whether there's an Oxford 'A' Levels, or is this what the 'A' Levels are called throughout the country?

All of the others are pretty much okay. Question: Also on this note; the UK matriculation course offered in my college is called the CAL, short for the Cambridge

Some boards are more equal than others... If this friend is going to study medicine make sure that they _REALLY_ want to study it - Elgon's alter-ego, Gaz, studied medicine for three years and found it unutterably dull and eventually jacked it in for Chemistry and French. And how he wished he'd done it in the first place,
