Making Photo Business Cards, Any Ideas?

Q: Making photo business cards, any ideas? I would like to make a card with one of my desert landscapes as the background image. I am an amateur photographer, not a pro btw so I really don't want to spend a lot of money. I do have photoshop 7 and have found a tutorial on this on the web but I am no where near ready to take this task on with PS, as I just got the program. I have Paintshop pro7 and just ordered the 8 upgrade. Perhaps somebody has done this with Paintshop pro?

A: - Avery Lables make a form (5371, available at most office supply stores) which consists of an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of tear-off business cards. M$ Word will provide a template for them. I've used them to make cards, and they're not bad. You might try that approach. I would use PS7 to put the text on the photo, then insert the composit into

Word. I suspect you'll want to reduce the sdaturation of the photo to make it appear as a background. - I made these in an Avery (free download) template in Word. Took about two hours, exclusive of avery shiny-card print drying time. The actual cards' type is startling white. I did a trim job on the perforated edges, using a good paper cutter (I don't know how any graphics worker can function without a good paper cutter. Thing of it is, you'll likely want to make changes, so don't bother to invest in churning out a great number of them at the start. I have three designs on hand at the moment: Plain, dignified information; Serious interest info; Playful info.
