MR Gallo
Q: The mere fact that people continue to talk about Mr. Gallo to the extent they do speaks volumes. And, although he has never asked to be reinstated, I can hardly believe the "controversy" continues. Since Mr. Gallo was banned, the number of SUBSTANTIVE posts has declined dramatically. It's obvious. Whether or not you liked his "tone," the consensus seems to be that he was a valuable, CONTRIBUTING member, whose answers were (at least in my opinion) usually right-on. Most other members sit in the background and contribute very little - but that's their right. I am insulted (and embarrassed, quite frankly) that among a group of practicing attorneys, any of our feelings could have been so terribly hurt by the "insults," "rantings," "belittling," and "lack of respect" (as you put it) of Mr. Gallo as to justify his being permanently silenced. Surely, no lawyer could really be that thin-skinned. Your last post, which was laced with venom directed at Mr. Gallo, is akin to the type of school-yard bullying of which you allege Mr. Gallo was guilty. In fact, your "attack" was actually worse than any of his because (in your school-yard terms) you chose call Mr. Gallo names behind his back; at least he faced his "victims." Finally, why should yo be able to get away with this type of unprofessional "nonsense" on the NYSBA-sponsored forum without consequence? Maybe you should be banned. Maybe you will be banned.
