Laws Governing Sexual Harassment

Q: I currently have a boss who has a history of snatching the arms of women that are trying to back away from him, and he does it in anger. I am simply waiting for the day he does it to me, because I fully intend to put his lights out for him right then and there. If they want to fire me or otherwise discipline me for my "self-defense", then I will escalate it. I fully believe this is one of those things where YOU KNOW that grabbing coworkers in anger is absolutely unacceptable, so talking it over with him is not going to help the situation. is this "hostile environment"?

A: No. Not under the laws governing sexual harassment. It may well be assault. It may well be battery. But it is not sexual harassment. The regulations governing sexual harassment are not gender specific. Unfortunately, far too many people who are in charge of administrating the corporate regulations concerning sexual harassment do not take the same non-gender specific view. Further, many of them do not even understand the law behind resolution of sexual harassment complaints.
