Las Vegas Weather

Those who enjoy balmy weather in summer and temperate air in winter will enjoy Las Vegas year-round. You will certainly realize you’re not in Kansas anymore when you arrive in this desert city for a fun-filled vacation or weekend getaway any time of the year. Spring and fall are not particularly noteworthy here. Instead, you will notice temperature fluctuations and milder breezes but few other harbingers these spectacular seasons that are so obvious in other parts of the country. Instead, they seem to bridge the two more extreme seasonal climates of winter and summer. Summer can be blazing hot, with temperatures soaring well past 100 degrees. Southwest winds may cool the air a bit, but you are going to feel the heat nevertheless. Fortunately, the lack of humidity due to the desert-like climate will help to keep the weather a little more bearable when out of doors. Inside, climate-controlled rooms for most public offices and entertainment establishments will keep guests comfortable day or night. If you spend time outdoors during the day, be sure to protect your skin and eyes from UV rays and sunburn. At night in summer, the temperatures often drop to the 70’s

and 80’s, making it still warm although less intense than the daytime hours. Occasional precipitation falls for a change of pace to add a little humidity to the air. Summertime hotel rates can dip fairly low to attract tourists who may prefer to be elsewhere. During the winter months, daytime temperatures hover in the 60’s and 70’s, with nighttime lows in the 40’s or 50’s. Snow is rare, though there may be a few showers or other rainfall. Many tourists love this time of year in Las Vegas because the climate is more enjoyable for outdoor activities. Heat or cold, rain or shine, Las Vegas offers an attractive blend of climactic features that will make your vacation quite memorable.
