Is A Distance Learning Degree Inferior?

Q: In response to Vashti on 28/05/01. I was disappointed to read that study by distance learning may be viewed as a lesser degree. I am a distance learner and I think it is the hardest (and loneliest) way to study. Most people doing distance learning are getting on with the rest of their lives at the same time, working, bringing up a family and looking after a home. To achieve academic qualifications at the same time should surely be a demonstration of commitment and personal drive to be admired by a prospective employer not looked down upon?

A: -There is no evidence that employers consider a distance degree inferior. In fact many corporations use distance methods to train employees. See Jones International University case studies http://jiu-web-a.jonesinternational.edu/eprise/main/JIU/c
