I Have Decided To Create My Own Letterhead.
Q: I have decided to create my own letterhead. My letterhead includes my law firm name, address in the center of the top of the first page, those elements divided up into four lines, on beneath the other (garden variety letterhead layout). Off to the right hand side, I have my phone numbers and fax numbers. I have spent hours designing this letterhead with exactly the right font, type size, type spacing (expanded, contracted), and precise space between lines. It exactly mimics the engraved letterhead I had previously used. My problem: How do I keep this letterhead from moving with my text? Is there a simple way to design letterhead so that the letterhead stays put on the first page? I know this must be a very simple process, but I just haven't figured out what it is, yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
A: -You should be setting up the Letter head in a First Page Header. Check out Headers in the on-line help. Come back here if you can't get what you want for that. -Go to File -> Page Setup -> Layout and in the Headers and Footers section, check "Different first page." Now place the document in Page Layout View. Cut your entire letterhead to the clipboard, double-click on the first page header (grey paragraph marker at the top) and paste your letterhead into the header.
