I Am Creating Overlays For Our Firm Letterhead Using WP8 Legal Edition.

Q: I am creating overlays for our firm letterhead using WP8 Legal Edition. The process I am using to create these overlays is the Finalize feature. I am using this feature as the firm administrator does not want the letterhead to be editable by members of the staff. The problem I am encountering is when the letterhead needs to be edited. I have put the forms on a network drive accessible to all users. In the Options portion of the Finalize window, I have chosen to save finalize styles and methods to this same network drive. I edit the "master" document which is my letterhead and replace the original document. The problem I am having is when you go to Document + Finalize and overlay the letterhead, it is still the original document - it does not "pick up" the changes. You have to create a new finalize method. This is not feasible to do on 250 workstations each time we change the

letterhead. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. If there is a better way to accomplish this, please advise.

A: Other folks may have better suggestions but mine would be to develop a template that has the company's letterhead and appropriate margin codes followed by a delay code that resets the margins after a one page delay (plus adds any headers or footers that your company's letter formats require on second and subsequent pages). Such a template results in a document that can then later have that letterhead edited but I suspect your need is really to have a consistent letterhead appearance that users won't inadvertently clobber.
