How Prevalent Are Online Physics Courses?
Q: Are online physics courses becoming more
prevalent?
Obviously a pure online course would not be
able to offer a lab.
However, they could offer a lab simulation
(Interactive Physics) instead; also, a hybrid
approach would be to combine online instruction
with in-class labs.
Anyway, I'm looking for any feedback about
how common and whether or not online
physics classes are becoming more prevalent.

Answer: Yes.
Question: Obviously a pure online course would not be
able to offer a lab.
Answer: Not obvious. It's possible to take data online.
Question: However, they could offer a lab simulation
(Interactive Physics) instead; also, a hybrid
approach would be to combine online instruction
with in-class labs.
Answer: That's an undesirble limitation, as it means that all students have to be
within driving distance.

Answer: They are becoming more prevalent simply because up until a few years ago the
number available was zero. I predict it's a passing fad.
