How Do One Learn To Draw?
Q: How do one learn to draw? I mean... is there any places of the net perhaps? Thinking about "furry drawing", yes, but "ordinary drawing styles" could be nice to know too, heh. If I have some free time, I could try pratcicing a bit.. but it's always nice with a few pointers here and there, how you should draw and how you should try to improve ones stile.
A: One of the techniques that I have heard that seemed to work pretty well is to take someones drawings that you like and trace them. Next to the tracing, draw the same image again withouth tracing. Next to these, draw the same image with some changes. This is a way to pick up on a style that you like, and a way to get a feel for spacial relations (especially when you start changing the image). Best way to learn is to start drawing, draw some more, erase some mistakes and draw in corrections, talk to others about what they are doing, and..... draw some more. Almost all artists started out terrible and you will rarely get laughed at by anyone who has actually tryed complex drawing unless you are being all stuck up about it.
