How To Stop Sexual Harassment In The Workplace

Q: A female friend is constantly harassed at work by her manager, and she doesn't know how to deal with it. This guy grabs her, makes obscene comments, and treats her like she's "his girl". Since he's the store manager, there's not much she can do. I was thinking maybe reporting him to an agency that investigates sexual harassment in the workplace or something, but she understandably doesn't want to go through more hassles. Should I send her store's home office a suggestion to keep their store manager's sex drive outside the workplace? Or maybe asking him nicely to stop myself? My friend said that would make him even worse because he's really immature and would make her life miserable. My question is why should she go along with his disgusting games just so she could work?

A: Sexual assault/battery and is a felony. To make a strong case against this *slim*, She should keep a diary containing dates, times and his actions against her. Also, try to get someone the witness his actions. One other item, she *must* tell him to stop. Otherwise, it could be construded that she approves of his actions. When she feels she has enough *evidence*, she should 1) get a laywer 2) look for a new job, cause you will be fired, 3) after you find a new job, file sexual assualt/battery charges against him and file a civil complaint against him and the parent company. The thing to remember is that without *evidence* or witnesses, its her word against his and she will loose. The DA will not handle

the case. Then the only recourse would be the civil complaint. This will cost lots of money, you may loose, and you run the risk of not gaining employment again. The friend should stay out of it. He should supply moral support to her, but do not approach this guy. Do not let the *slim* know you are on to him. You will only end up getting her fired and then some other woman will take her place. The information he has is *hearsay* and meaning less to authorities. Be prepared to rehash all of this in court. I hope she goes through with filing charges. It will give this *slim* something to think about and maybe other *slims* will think twice about doing the same.
