Horizon H.S. Class Ring Found ?

Q: Today, I went out detecting and I found a heavy Mens 10 kt Gold, H.S Class Ring buried 4" deep. It sure made my day, but I want to return it to its rightful owner. I was wondering how to go about returning it the owner? I would like to return it as soon as possible. I have the persons name and H.S School and year (1995) and it was manufactured by Jostens. The problem is I don't have a clue where Horizon H.S. is located? An help would be appreciated. I really want to return this ring. I had my H.S. class ring (1976) stolen and to this day it still upsets me. Please any advice and help would be appreciated. Now to the rest of my hunt. I detected for 2 1/2 hours and found 7 quarters, 14 dimes, 2 nickels and 78 crusty zinc cents, the above Class Ring and two junk rings. and a kids matchbox car. It was a breezy cold day here , but the diggins were worth it.

A:We recently had a class ring found by a metal detectorist,It made the front page of the local newspaper. The ring was lost (actually stolen at school) back in the 50's,it was found on the lawn of a neighboring school 8 inches deep ! The lady was really broken up with tears when she got the ring back..... Glad the hunt for the owner was sucessful. If it were me, I'd have the dad get the son to call you so you could hear the "whole story" about the ring and its loss. I'll bet there are interesting details the dad doesn't know. Then send it to him direct. Also I live near Portland, so if you wanted to get a picture of the smiling guy with his newly recovered ring, I could do that for you. He'd have to drive a short way to meet me. I'd guess you'd have to send me the ring, or the guy probably wouldn't bother with the photo op. I sent the ring via UPS just before 5pm today. I am hoping to hear from the owner of the ring. I would really like to hear his story on how he lost it. I would also like to get a picture of him wearing his ring with a big smile on his face. Thank you for the great offer, maybe he will get in touch with me and I can arrange the photo op with you. It would be really nice to see him with his ring. I will let you know when I

hear from him. Its very nice of you to offer help. Happy Diggins.Brent No problem. When you hear from him ask if he could bring his ring and smile and meet me at Jantzen Beach. He'll know where that is. We'll firm up exact time and location later. I'll get you a couple of good pics, suitable for framing and local notoriety. There are a few lost and found sites on the web for class rings. Here are a couple. I lost my class ring in 1973. I had graduated in 1971, so it wasn't that old. Problem is, I lost it in Itay and doubt I will ever see it again. http://www.geocities.com/hit_man_j/Class_Ring_Finder.html http://www.classringfinder.com/main.asp
