Help Picking Out Medical Training Courses.
Q: I am looking to get some medical training. I was sent a link from this site about some training they give. http://www.medicalcorps.org/school.htm $350 for the course. I have already read NWSS (Nuclear War survival Skills), have KIO3 etc. I still need to order Jane’s Bio handbook though. Is it worth it or should I take a wilderness medical training program, or EMT training instead. I have given shots to horses, wrapped bandages, had CPR training years ago, but that is about it. Any EMT’s or doctors out there with recommendations, I really don’t have 8 years to go back to school.
A: -Go get EMT-W or EMT-D. ALS is good, but is expensive and you have to keep current. Then do some volunteer work to keep your skills current. -take a Wilderness First Responder course (took mine from www.wildmed.com ) 9 days, excellent course.
