Heartburn Indigestion Upset Stomach

Q: I cheated a little and gained a few pounds earlier in the week, had them all off yesterday and was back to my starting point (they must've just been water), and today I'm up again 2lbs! I was anticipating at the worst being the same weight the next day, give or talk half a pound since my scale equates 1 oz over an even pound as half a pound. I don't know whether the culprit was not enough water (I was out *all* day and planned poorly, drank around 92oz but not mostly water), or that I went like 4g over my usual carb limit (20g). The culprit was the Tums of course because I haven't found the SF ones and, well, the thought of drinking baking soda in water makes me even sicker. I wonder if my seeming inability to drop below 264 has something to do with not taking my allergy meds, which is making my stomach unhappy every other day or so. In any event I'm probably set back another 2 days and probably not on schedule to reach my next goal Can anyone in the group help me solve out this problem please?

A:why do you need a lot of kind of medicine? If you're having "heartburn" (?) there are medications that you can take which are more effective. TUMS is for once in awhile "heartburn", not all the time. Your lack of weight loss actually could be

from an upset gastrointestinal thing. ie: if your intestinal tract isn't working right, your digestion won't either. When digestion doesn't work correctly, the body often does either gain weight or just not lose weight no matter how hard you try. Also, "heartburn" can lead one to eat more just to reduce the acid discomforts. By the way, once your weight is lower, heartburn (if you have it -?) will decrease significantly. At that point, your need for TUMS should decrease. But, again, at this point, if you need lots of TUMS throughout the day, it's time to get a doctor involved in an exam and a prescription that would better relieve symptoms; that is, if I've guessed correctly.
