Heartburn And Early Pregnancy
Q: I am having some problems with heartburn
I know this is very dangerous especially when I am pregnant
i have some questions here for you. I hope all of you here can help me
1. Does the size of the baby have anything to do with heartburn? The
bigger the baby the more heartburn?
2. I didn't have any heartburn with my first one. Neither did my
sister. We both had it with second pregnancies. Is this just
coincidence or do you get HB with a?
A:I think having any sized baby in my torso would cause
mine. I have always wondred if heartburn is worse for women who are short
waisted or who carry higher. I expect if I have more pregnancies I'll have
more heartburn...it just feels like my stomach is squished!
I am in my 36th week (wow!) and so far my heartburn isn't horrible...just
bad sometimes and not on a regular basis but when it's bad it can be very
bad. It's bad often enough, but I can see it could be MUCH worse, and more
frequent, so knock on wood...
It makes sense there'd be more pressure upwards with a bigger baby, but in my
experience the heartburn can occur at any time in pregnancy, not just when the
baby's getting huge. Nor do I particularly remember having more heartburn with
my twins than with my singleton.
