Harvard, Boston University Or Tufts Dental School Clinics ?

Q: What experiences have you folks out there had at Harvard, Boston University or Tufts dental schools clinics?

A:I'm having extensive work donw right now at Harvard Dental. So far, I have been extremely happy with the care. And ecstatic about the prices, compared with what I've been used to paying. I had a a full checkup, cleaning and a crown put in at the Harvard Dental School clinic about 10 years ago. Maybe that's too long ago to help with a decision today, You can't really put the name "best" on any given dental school. Each school has its strengths and weaknesses. Its like saying (I understand you're from Canada) which school is better, Waterloo or McGill. In the field of engineering, McGill is not fit to hold Waterloo's jock straps but if we shift to sciences, Waterloo is no match. One dental school may be strong in the research, another may be strong in clinical and others may be in academics. How do you define "the best dental school"? USC dental program has one of the highest state board exam pass rates in the state but would I say its the best dental school in california, certainly not. The average GPA to get into Western Ontario dental school is much higher than that of USC, would anyone dare to say Western is better than USC, of course not. Some dental

schools are better than others of course and I did quite a bit of asking around "which is better" myself. But I realized what everyone else is saying is correct. It doesn't matter which school is better or worse. It matters whether or not you can pass the board and get your license. And to do that, you almost certainly have to attend the school at where you want to practice. It sounds like a broken record but its true. In case you care, going to Harvard dental school won't help you one bit on passing the Canadian board exam. Don't think that just because you attended Harvard that you'll gain some sort of secret knowledge that no one else knows and you're invincible.
