Harrassment: What Constitutes Harrassment ??
Q: I would be interest to know how easy it is to
prove harrassment ?. For example, is the regular
driving past your house looking in the front window
harrassment ?. How often would they need to do this
to constitute harrassment ?.
A: The legislation defines harassment as a course of conduct that you know or should know is likely to result in harassment of another person. A one off incident would not constitute a course of conduct. The Police would be looking for two or more incidents. The Police are particularly keen on using the legislation in the case of neighbour disputes. If the Police are called out on several occasions to deal with the neighbour dispute then they will often charge one neighbour, or indeed, both with harassment.
