Harrasment Policy

Q: I think I like this new Harrasment Policy i coach a school football team that consists of 9-10 year olds, boys and girls, and I have heard them apply the term "gay" to all manner of things. They are not referring to any group of people when they say it, nor are they trying to degrade anyone, to them it's just a cool word they have picked up. Perhaps they will grow out of it as they get older, but personally, I think it's here to stay ,isn't it ?

A: I don't have a paticular problem with the word gay. I guess it all depends on the use my post was not intended to be a post about what is proper to say and what is not. I'm sorry if it came accross that why my intent here was to point out that with the new harrasement policy you can use it in your advantage to get some idiot in trouble if you manage to manipulate them in the proper way. Just play inocent and say the proper things then if they keep up you send in a complaint and with any luck Poof they are gone. Also I understand that in different age groups different terms are acceptable.

In my group Old Lady and Old Man is acceptable. As Ice mentioned in her group it is not. As for the term gay well I guess it all depends on the person. I'm personally not offended by some one asking are you gay. But in the context that it was used in this paticular instance I thought it was inapropriate. Just because I didn't get upset at it does not mean that some one coming up to you and saying. "Your horse is gay", "are you gay too" is acceptable. Now if he had come up to me and said "Dood that look is so gay" or Rather "DeWd dAt Luk Iz sO GaY" then I would have thought of it being more of a mis guided youth rather then a greifer trying to start a fight.
