Harrasment Lawsuits

Q: I have also heard it said, "Don't get your meat where you get your bread". I suppose everyone by now knows that it is a big mistake to like a woman that you work with, or at least let her know that you like her, or love her. They call that "sexual harrasment". It was a one month relationship, in which I would carry on seemingly pleasant/intelligent conversation with her at work, daily. It seems odd that I never dated her, I know, but she understood my situation. I work 7 days a week, with no time for a social life, practically my entire waking time (except when I am on my computer, late in the nite, like now). The only contact I had with the woman, was after I proposed to marry her, she gave me a hug, and kissed me in the cheek, and then left. The very next day, wondering if she will give me a more definitive answer, instead I am called to the mat by my boss, who, in no uncertain terms, tells me that my job is in peril. Is this fair?

A: My thinking was, and this is what I told the lady I proposed to, if she is willing to LIVE with me, then she should be willing to MARRY me first, this way we would not be living in sin. In fact, I even offered her the option of a plutonic marriage, if that is what she wants. I was serious, and pleasant about it. I made her an offer, I thought she could not refuse, I offered to take care of her financially too. After all, here is a woman who is having so many financial problems, that she is willing to look around for a MALE room mate, I saw her circling ads in the newspaper, & it was SHE who first suggested that me and her move in together, and share the rent. I was willing to accomodate her, but in a sinless way. For whatever it's worth, I told her not to be afraid of marriage, not to think of marriage as a trap, she would have the legal right to divorce me any time she wants, if it does not work out. She WAS willing to live with me, she liked the idea, at first, but when I suggested marriage, she hugged me, kissed me on the cheek, and left without an answer. The next day, I got her answer, from my boss, that she complained of "sexual harrasment". I think for the record, everyone can see, despite all these insults, I am a

man of IMPECCABLE character. What I did was HONORABLE, what she did was DESPICABLE. It amazes me that anyone would side with her. This is my oppinion. I welcome yours. Since you are my only ally on the issue, I will share my knowledge on the matter of sexual harrasment, for your information. 99% of sexual harrasment lawsuits are filed by women, against men. Last I heard, only one sexual harrasment lawsuit was won by a man. He was a Law Student, who supplemented his education, by working as a Pizza delivery man, for Domino's Pizza. After having succesfully sued his female boss, in an interview, he said, "Now I can finally afford to pay for my Law school".
