Good Norwegian Language Course?

Q: It's been about 20 years since I've taken any Norwegian classes; I took 4 semesters of Norwegian at Luther College. I still have the textbook and dictionary from the class, but I'm looking for a good Norwegian language course on CD/tape to use as a refresher. I'm looking for a fairly complete course, not one of the "Learn Just Enough Norwegian to Ask Where the Bathroom Is" courses. Any recommendations?

A:Yes. Try La Méthode Assimil Le norvégien sans peine, 4 CD's (more than 4 hours) + a very fine book of 640 pages containing 100 lessons, copious explanations, and going up to quite sophisticated colloquial Norwegian Bokmål. The fact that the book is in French is not a problem, the Assimil method is intuitive and is based upon efficient use of passive and active learning, as well as on curiosity and a whacky sense of humor. The CD's are excellently produced and are only in Norwegian. At a cost of about 68.45 ¤ or 54.42 ¤ + postage if you purchase it online from http://www.fnac.com/ it's a bargain.
