Double Wedding Ring Quilt Pattern ?

Q: And, welcome to the group! Where are you from? Do you quilt a lot? How many have you made? Do you have any QIs ( pets )? Are you a coffee/tea/soda ( pop ) drinker? Like chocolate? Got a favourite recipe? Join us when you can!

A:I wish I could remember his name, someone mentioned that in the past three weeks here! A man came up with a way to do the arcs as straight strip-pieced sections, cut evenly, then the seams angled a bit (sort of like little darts) by lining the pieces up with a mark he put on the sewing machine. Or something like that! Double wedding ring quilt pattern. I need information on a pattern that is done in strips. Any information will be appreciated. New to the group, still a bit shaky so for right now if you could E-mail me directly it would be a help. Sorry I can't help you Lou but I'm using your post to ask for something related. I am looking for a DWR that has no curves. I have a picture but no pattern. It has tiny 9-patches and triangles that connect it together. Can anyone help? I've done a double wedding ring from a pre-printed paper piecing/foundation pattern that I bought. It was way easy and very accurate. Once again I am in Glasgow so when I get home if you are interested I will send you the details. I do remember that it is issued by a company called the Big

Block and most of my LQS's stock some of the patterns. However in this the rings are not round but really with the finished thing you don't really notice it. I;ve done a paper piecing one (very easy) from pre-printed patterns by The Big Block, most quilt shops seem to stock some of their patterns so the one you want could be ordered. The finished rings do look curvered because of the angles but actually they are rectangles. This is one pattern that I would not attempt by rotary cutting and traditional piecing. This was my first attempt at paper piecing and I found it very straightforward, even amending the colours they gave to suit my own colour scheme.
