Does Anybody Know About The Use Of Electronic Business Cards?

Q: Does anybody know about the use of electronic business cards? Are they growing? How are they usually distributed, CD-ROM or floppy? What program do developers use to create them? Or, does anybody have any suggestions on where I can get this information?

A: My company (a graphic design and computing operation in the UK) are currently experimenting with this concept. We're using Adobe Acrobat for floppy disc size files with graphics and basic hypertext links, as a 1995 calendar and electronic portfolio, and to develop customer contact info sheets for a large organisation that we service. I'm also looking at mini software 'toys' in Director/Hypercard etc. There's a little utility program called TheatreMaker which I think exists as shareware which is fun. It lets you show a looped QuickTime movie over a full- screen graphic. There's also a text string for the developer's details which you can hack into if you wanted, though I would never endorse such an action ;-) These files can be made to fit onto a floppy with care.
