In every situation there are two sides, the right side and the other side. Who protects the individual who is falsely accused?
Even when the accusation is found to be without truth the lingering feeling of guilt remains. Who stands up for these individuals?
What recourse can be taken?
A: Your defense attorney stands up for you. That's why you pay them. The company will likely stand up for you too, by paying the defense attorney. As for lingering guilt, get some psychological counseling and request that your employer do some team building programs to overcome the rift created by the lawsuit. Otherwise, get over it. Not everyone's going to like you, so start by liking yourself if you are really innocent. As for recourse, if the plaintiff's claim was wholly groundless and you can show some malice in filing the claim, sue them for harassment.
