Dental Hygiene Continuing Education
Q: Personally, I can not afford a hygienist. The demand for an RDH is
much higher than the supply. So, your salaries are a bit too high now.
Have you tried paying someone $30/hr to file or sharpen instruments?
What do you do when the patient cancels?
A:as a PRIMIDONNA I generate 1200-2000 dollars a day for my dentist and
get paid less than 200 a day. Get no health coverage, no vacation,
and have to pay for my licensure requirements, continuing education
courses, uniforms, medical care, ect.
and yes instraments do need to be sharpened, they dont work when they
are dull, Sounds more like a recpeption problem if you cant get
patients to confirm and keep the appointments.
Dental Hygiene is the only Profession regulated by thier employer and
required to work directly with on at all times.
it you cant afford a dental hygienist the pass legislation for
the unsupervised practice of dental hygiene that would allow the
dental hygienist to have thier own business.
