Q: Which 'A' level subjects are looked on more favorably when applying to
Oxbridge to study law. Their online prospectuses don't actually tell
you.
A:This was one of the questions I asked when I saw the admissions tutor - she
replied that there is NO preference. However, as many of the other
traditional universities, they don't look favourably on some of the more
'arty farty' subjects. In my case, she said it could actually be to my
advantage having the sciences, as LONG AS I COULD BACK IT UP with good
essaywriting skills, and, more importantly, good gcses.
As another point, if you are applying to Oxbridge, I would suggest going and
visiting it, and, if possible, meeting some staff/students. That's what I
did, and consequently, my first choice is UCL, with Oxbridge not featuring
on my UCAS form......................
