DW Is To Limiting For Me To Create A Simple LETTER Logo Design

Q: DW is to limiting for me to create a simple LETTER logo design. I would like to have the letters sit on top of each other, have a shadow line etc. I have played around with Photoshop , but this too is a pain in the butt. MS word has word art, which does nice things, but it is then a .doc file, how can I use that? Anybody share with me the best way to create this?

As for the term you use "limiting", it is not the right word you use best describe about DW not capable of designing logo. THat said, DW is not a graphic editing app. It is a web authoring app! DW is a high-end, professional *web* authoring app, while you need to design concepualization of logo

around Photoshop, Fireworks or Illustrator. Please note that Photoshop is ideally designed for editing high-end professional image editing. Fireworks have two features (bitmap and vector-based), where you can edit image (then save it as "web image" with appropriate file compression such as JPG or PNG) or web graphic (non-image pictures) and then save it either PNG or GIF... Illustrator is high-end vector-based app, but this allows you to do some powerful logo design with Illustrator. Word app is ideally designed for word processing docs, but it does horrible job with logo design and things like that. It is not ideally app for designing logo concept or such project.
