Customer Relationship Management Mobile Help

Q: Greetings, I am attempting to load Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Mobile to a SBS 2003 server. The certificate issuance is causing my problems, (likely a user one). The way Iunderstand it I need to create a Enterprise Level Root Authority using the server .local name and then issue a cert for the CRM site DNS name. When I run CRMMobIPCfg.exe I get several service failures. I can force them up in Service manager but the integration service terminates unexpectedly. Can anyone offer any direction; information on the net is sparse.

A: You mentioned that you are trying to load CRM Mobile to a SBS 2003 server. Are you trying to install CRM mobile, or are you onto installing CRM mobile on the PPC device? When you setup an Enterprise CA server for mobility you will need to include 2 certificates in the mobile deployment package. 1 is for your CRM server 1 is your root CA certificate So, when you setup your deployment package you installation items should look something like this: 1. Certificates (configure with CRM server cert) 2.

Certificates (configure with root CA cert) 3. SQL CE 4. .Net Framework 5. CRM Mobile (If you are using Netbios name you will need to change the settings tab to reflect this. By default they are set to use the FQDN) The order of the installation items does not matter, except you must have CRM Mobile listed last. If you use the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) you will want to make sure and set the Pass Through within active sync to 'The Internet'. That is the setting that is required when you have periods in your 'Issued to' name on your certificate. If you use the Netbios name (no periods) for your certificate, then you would use the 'Work' Pass Through setting.
