Credit Reporting Agencies
Credit reporting agencies (CRA) companies that keep a record of your credit history that is available to your employer, credit card companies and banks. Your credit report contains your full name, address, social security number, birth date; your current credit accounts with your balance and limits, and your history of paying them on time. A credit reporting agency keeps track of your credit score which is what loan officers and other credit lenders look at when considering you for credit. Taking out a loan for a house or car can be a very challenging ordeal if your credit isn't up to par. You can check your own credit history with a credit reporting agency online or by calling their toll free customer service number. Some of the top credits reporting agencies are Equifax, Experian, and Transunion. These companies are contacted when you fill out a credit card application. When a credit card company views what is in your credit report, it does not automatically guarantee that you will be approved or denied. The same applies if you are applying for insurance, an apartment, employment, or even a loan at your local bank. There is plenty of credit reporting agencies that can be found online where you can view your credit history.
