A secured card is a VISA or MasterCard for which you need to keep a definite amount of deposit in the bank. To make a purchase, you need to have adequate balance in your account. You cannot make purchase beyond your balance limit. In unsecured cards, you do not need to have a bank balance as such to make purchases. You can choose one of these two types of cards depending on your financial strength and requirements.
