Content Management Server ?
Q: Does anyone know of any resources available for training in Microsoft
Content Management Server ? None of the CTEC offices seem to carry it.. I
mean I know its new.. but c'mon... Is there something I'm missing here?
A: -Something of a comedian I see, there have been a couple of arranged and
cancelled events and also there is a whole session on future capabilities of
XML import/export features of CMS as yet unannounced and unreleased at the
MEC this year (a Whole one session out of 300 that is). Other than that
pressure your country product manager if you can find out who that is.
-Below is the information....But I have been told that
there are better ways to spend 4000.00. Like searching
the news groups or find someone who will work with you to
get your site up from the newsgroups. That is what I have
done. If you need any recomendations shoot me a line and I
can assist.

-Shortly after we purchased the product I asked the same
question to several different people at Microsoft and was
forwarded a bit of information on classes that NCompass
was still putting on at the time. One for authors and
one for admin/basic development. Nothing was offered for
hardcore development and is still not to the best of my
knowledge. The best bang for your buck is to post
questions to boards and get sample
source back. If your
time frame is more immediate and you have specific
questions on ways to achieve a specific objective than
getting a CMS consultant on site for a short to extended
period of time can be worth its weight in gold.
I know that wasn't the answer you were really looking
for, as I felt the same way, however we did get a
consultant on site to help us work through some specific
questions we had and she was able to help us get a much
better grasp over the API in a very short period of
time. Ended up being better than any class I could have
gone to as it applied specifically to the things I wanted
to accomplish. Very good experience.
