Today’s computer speakers are a lot different from the computer speakers of old. Do you remember those computers from the 80’s like the Commodore 2000? This computer actually had no ability to make any noise at all. It didn’t have any speakers. After that when almost all computers were running on DOS systems and the most popular were Apple Computers, if you did have speakers they were built into the monitor. You couldn’t actually buy any extra speakers for your system. That is all changed now. Eventually, Windows programs brought to us by Bill Gates opened our systems up to many different options. One of those things that Windows brought was updated computer motherboards. Windows 3.1 gave our motherboards the ability to plug in separate speakers that were used outside of the monitor’s capabilities. At the time, it was a revelation. These days that just isn’t enough because many small speakers are not built to really do much. Thanks to the newest in technology, we now have peer to peer networks and the ability to use our computer systems as our main home theater unit. We now use computers to play DVDs, CDs, MP3, and to watch movies. It is a great time to start making your computer system the centerpiece of your entertainment unit. Computers re being used for many things and because of this, we now have many options for buying our own computer
