Club DVD
With so many people preferring to conduct all of their television and movie viewing with DVDs it is no wonder that DVD clubs are popping up all over the place. DVD clubs generally offer you free DVDs or cheap ones to lure you in, however sometimes you may not get the discounts that you are hoping for. Of course, some DVD clubs are excellent for renting DVDs for a monthly fee. These are relatively new to the world at large but have been around a few years or so. How these clubs work is that you pay $19.99 a month for a membership and with it you get the chance to rent as many DVDs as you want to for as long as you want. When you are finished with each DVD shipment you send the back in prepaid postage envelopes and start ordering your next batch. The advantages of such clubs are that you certainly get your money’s worth out of the membership price if you are an avid video watcher and you can avoid late fees. The disadvantage is from the possibility of the movies being damaged in transit, I wouldn’t recommend that you sign for these clubs unless you watch a lot of movies in a month and are willing to wait until your movie comes in the mail. Other DVD clubs and perhaps the most popular is Columbia House’s DVD club. This offers you free movies with your membership application and discounts or good prices on your purchases for DVDs. IT sounds great but there is a downside.
