Class Ring Pin, Standin' On Pins (was Somethin' 'bout Macy's & Tommy) ?

Q: In my dorm, we used to have two pins side by side in the lobby. A friend of mine used to always sit on one pin and watch me play the other. I think I sat on 'em a couple times, too. Anyway, he would occasionally JUMP off the floor directly onto the playfield glass and land on it in a standing position. Granted, he's not a very big guy, but he could stand on a normal pin with no problem. (I never tried that.)

A:It's $40. Trust me. BTW, Financially speaking, if I was standing on a pin and the glass broke, I would be MUCH more worried about the damage to the playfield and the various parts on/under the playfield than about the glass. I think the folks are "For Amusement Only", they're located in the Berkeley area and seem to make an annual trip down to Southern California. At least they were at the last two auctions located in Costa Mesa, C

A: Anyway, I bought a replacement topglass for my HIGH SPEED from them last year for $25.00. Definately. A smashed glass is $25.00 and a few hours with a Shop Vac. Something like a slashed

playfield or flattened Rudy would be quite a bit more expensive to fix. I had the the horror of seeing the glass on a white water get cracked. A footbal player at a local bowling alley couldn't seem to ever break 300M on it and after draining his last ball, he gave the glass a good open-palmed whack. The guy had on his class ring, and I thought I was gonna cry when I saw the really really nasty crack in it. I had waited through six credits (he said he wanted toplay alone) and of COURSE the management had to choose this one time in the existence ofthe universe to notice it happen, so they shut the pin down. I guess Murphy's applies to pins too.
