Christian College

The term Christian College is often thought to mean that the school is either devoted to biblical studies or that it is a school that is a chosen refuge of those students with strong religious ties. The fact of it is that many different people with different interests study at Christian Colleges. In truth, the term Christian college doesn't necessarily mean anything other than that a Christian perhaps founded the school. There are simply too many types of schools that use the term Christian College to be certain unless you read the curriculum and/or mission statement. Colleges can get the term Christian College from any number of sources such as: the curriculum is biblical in nature; the students are religious; the college not only has an academic curriculum, but its students get experience in mission work; the school may be purely academic, but also studies religion; and/or that the school was founded by a Christian. Some Christian Colleges offer academic degrees and offer mission work as a mandate for getting those degrees. It is a great way for them to reach out to those in need and give their student s a great experience in helping others. You should not assume

that because the title Christian is a part of the school that all you will be learning is the bible or the life of Jesus. Many Christian colleges are no different than state colleges in the curriculum that they offer. Some Christian colleges also offer higher levels of degrees like master's degrees and graduate work. It just goes to show you that before you choose a college to go to, you have to do your research on the schools that you are considering because you could end up registering at a school that doesn't offer you what you are looking to study at the level that you are hoping to reach. Learning this about Christian colleges just proves that you can't judge a school by its name.
