Canada Debt Relief
Q: Don't blame me, I'm a regionalist. I don't give a crap about Canada's debt. Sure, it will hurt us, when the Canadian government chokes on it's own debt-load. What will ever change federally?
If we had an election every 2 years, maybe something might get done, but with the current system, we have to wait for double that in order to get rid of someone doing absolutely nothing (like our current Federal government).
In Alberta, we are lucky. We have Ralph Klein. What a good debt-cutter. However, if Lawrence Decore became premier, what would have changed? I don't know. Lawrence might have done nothing, he might have been another Ralph. The point is, we were lucky.
Who will lead Canada out of debt? If we get lucky, we may find someone brave enough to accept that responsibility. Chances are, we won't find anyone. So who gives a shit, right? As long as Alberta continues it's trend, we won't need Canada.
By the way, I know our federal government aren't cutting enough, because nobody is complaining. Here's a cost-cutting idea: we should legislate a bill limiting the amount of legislation done (har!) in one year. We've passed enough laws. Any lawyer, including the ones I asked, agrees.
