Can Sexual Harrassment Take Place At Workplace And How To Deal With It?

Q: Can sexual harrassment take place at workplace and how to deal with it?

A: First of all...DOCUMENT everything. If your coworker makes sexual comments to you..tell them you do not appreciate that kind of talk. Carry a notebook and write down when/where/what happened and who was there (if anyone) to witness it. If it happens after you tell that person (male or female) that you do not appreciate that talk...report immediately to your supervisor and ask for follow up. IF it continues go immediately to human resources. You also need (in my opinion only) to curb your own comments. Don't run yelling sexual harrassment because someone tells you "that is a nice skirt" when you are sitting around the water cooler reciting naughty limericks. Other wise you may find yourself at the OTHER end of that write up for sexual harrassment. This is a serious subject and employers take it seriously. Peoples careers and personal lives can be destroyed because of a flippant joke or a snitty accusation. Again..document everything that happened.
