Bluetooth Stock And Technology

Bluetooth is an innovative new wireless technology introduced some years ago-and has been with us for some time now- it was intended to replace the messy business of wires and cable’s that connect electronic devices. In short it is a wireless way of communicating between electronic devices through the utilization of short wave radio and is in fact cutting edge electronics; however, it has not achieved the breakthrough that it was meant to bring forth. We have had Bluetooth for a number of years and many companies have invested in the technology but public interest has been lukewarm at best. Is it because many people are simply too fazed by the technology? Could be- and if that is so- will it be a good idea to invest in Bluetooth stock at this time? Most companies have jumped onto the Bluetooth bandwagon and this may be the time to get into the Bluetooth mode. The Bluetooth trademark is owned by Bluetooth SIG, Inc, USA, composed of about 2000 independent entities-companies and individuals worldwide- who are shareholders, and most technologically dependent companies and mobile major’s have a stake in the technology. Investing in Bluetooth would mean you will have to invest in the 120 companies or so that have adopted and are actively implementing the technology in their products. These companies include IBM, Motorola, and Nokia to name a few. What does this mean for your investment needs? High technology companies that are waiting to implement this product, in a wider range of products may be offering IPO’s specific to the launch of a product that is heavily dependant on the technology. To date, public enthusiasm for Bluetooth has been mixed. This might be an important determinant in your

investment decision. No technology however advanced can yield good profits if the public does not adopt it en-masse and this is simply not the case, as yet, with Blue tooth. The simplest way to check this out would be to see, if there is a cable connecting all the different components of your computer, those cable’s are what Bluetooth will replace and it is slow going, thus far. Do check out websites of the major players such as Intel and Motorola as they have very informative digs on the new technology and are heavily investing in it. At the end of the day, investing in Bluetooth stock will be the same old technological stock purchases that you have probably tried for in the past.
