Benefits Of Hemorrhoids Laser Surgery
Hemorrhoids laser surgery is the process of using a laser to apply electrical currents to a patient’s hemorrhoidal tissue. This often outpatient procedure helps to prohibit blood from flowing to the hemorrhoid, thus reducing problematic symptoms. During the surgery, a laser probe sends an electrical current to the tissue. As a result, this causes a chemical reaction to take place that stops the blood flow to the hemorrhoid. When blood flow is inhibited, the swollen hemorrhoid will shrink and dry up, often eliminating the inflammation problem altogether. Hemorrhoids laser surgery is typically used on external hemorrhoids rather than those found internally. Because of this, the recovery from the surgery can often be rather painful, but the time it takes for recovery to take place is not terribly long. Regular over-the-counter creams and donut-shaped pillows can often still be used following the treatment to aid in comfort during the recovery period. Doctors may also prescribe special medication to be applied after the procedure. Because the surgery can performed in the office on an outpatient basis, and because it is less invasive, many surgeons prefer hemorrhoids
